M2M One Satellite Airtime

M2M One, a Semtech company, has launched a solution combining satellite airtime and hardware to keep remote and critical industries connected across ANZ.

M2M One Satellite Airtime has been described as Australia’s first industrial IoT satellite solution which combines data plans paired with premium hardware. It will enable M2M One channel partners to offer satellite connectivity on leading networks including Iridium and Inmarsat.

The service is designed for mission-critical applications, providing backup should land-based systems (cellular) fail. Target industries include mining, energy, agriculture, general logistics, fleet management, defence, aviation, autonomous systems and emergency services. Key applications are asset and vehicle tracking, environmental monitoring, conditions monitoring, critical communication, wellness wearables, surveillance and site safety in remote locations.

The product will be supported by hardware from IoT hardware specialist M2M Connectivity and a team of local IoT engineers. M2M One will offer satellite bundles combined airtime and hardware in tiers to meet the requirements of small or large deployments. Additionally, airtime and hardware will be offered as standalone products.
