Panorama Antennas LPBSC-6-60 and B4BSC-6-60 IP68-certified antennas

Panorama Antennas has released two IP68-certified antenna ranges for the water industry. The LPBSC-6-60 and B4BSC-6-60 are omnidirectional broadband antenna ranges covering 617–960/1427–6000 MHz, and have been specially adapted for use in hostile, frequently flooded environments for applications like sewer monitoring, water metering and flood control.

The antennas are designed to be wall, mast or panel mounted either using a bracket (only supplied with B4BSC range) or on a device/enclosure. An omnidirectional radiation pattern allows easy placement of the antennas in any position, without requiring directional alignment. The exposed metal parts of the antennas are 316 stainless steel, making the devices resistant to corrosion.

The antennas are supplied with an integral ultralow-loss FR CS29 coaxial cable, fitted with a special SMA plug that forms a seal preventing water wicking up the cable into the antenna housing during submersion. They are sealed against ingress at up to a 5 m depth for seven days when mounted on a bracket, provided that the SMA plug is properly connected. They have been tested to ASTM-G210 – Severe Wastewater Analysis Testing, and a vermin-proof cable protection sleeve is available as an option.

The antennas’ IP68 ingress protection, IP-rated plug and corrosion-resistant materials make them suitable for deployment in water and wastewater applications where equipment is likely to experience regular water immersion. The low profile and omnidirectional pattern of the antennas, as well as the ability to wall, mast, panel or, in the case of B4BSC, bracket mount them, allows for flexible mounting, orientation and deployment in confined spaces.
