Richardson Electronics SL1203A external GPS antenna

Monday, 01 March, 2010 | Supplied by: Wireless Components

An external GPS antenna, the Richardson Electronics SL1203A simplifies RF front-end design and device integration for GPS receivers.

The antenna uses Sarantel’s GeoHelix dielectrically loaded, quadrafilar helix that minimises the normal detuning effects of close body proximity and makes this antenna suitable for handheld or body worn GPS devices.

The balanced construction and inherent filtering capability eliminate the need for external SAW filters or baluns. Enclosed in a rugged, waterproof and dust-proof package (14 x 19 x 32 mm), it weighs 13.4 g and includes a built-in SMA plug.

The integral DC block allows direct connection to receivers with DC voltage on the RF input.
