Claimed to be one of the world's first total tower-top solutions has been unveiled by Radio Frequency Systems.

Designed to meet the needs of third-generation (3G) broadband wireless networks, the Optimizer Plus is an all-in-one tower-top assembly comprising antenna, tower-mounted amplifier and antenna tilt control unit.

It has been specifically developed to cut the cost and lead-time associated with mobile base station site acquisition and antenna installation. The assembly accommodates both RFS TMA technologies and most other commercially available options.

The antenna's one-body is fully factory-assembled and tested and has two fixing points. This allows site installation and testing time to be cut by up to 40% compared with similar installations using discrete RF components.

The entire assembly - including TMA, TMA housing, and mounting hardware - weighs 15 kg and is 1.8 m long, ensuring tower and wind-loadings are kept to a minimum.
