Tri-sector antenna

Tuesday, 05 June, 2007 | Supplied by: Maser Technology Group

Kathrein has released a modular concept, similar to a three sector pipe antenna form factor with azimuth adjustment. It also incorporates a retrofit principle for existing A panels including dual and triple-band base station antennas.

A benefit of this design is the ability to use the same Kathrein antennas that are available. This allows the network operator to upgrade existing sites using the same configuration.

Mast head amplifiers from other vendors may be used in this format. The design allows for adjustable azimuth for each sector: ±10° The site installer can configure this construction.

The design allows for easy transport because the unit is modular and each component can be individually replaced. The wind load factor is also reduced.

The antenna is due to be released early 2008.
