Wireless network protection

3Com’s AirProtect wireless intrusion prevention system (WIPS) addresses security threats to corporate information from unsecured Wi-Fi networks.

The system continuously scans the airways and provides intrusion prevention against unauthorised Wi-Fi activities.

By scanning 62 wireless radio channels, the device provides denial of service protection against wireless threats and prevents up to 20 simultaneous attacks per deployed sensor.

It can also disable all wireless connections, allowing enforcement of ‘no wireless’ policies.

The Enterprise version of the device caters for large businesses by providing central system management of up to 210 sensors while the Sentry version is designed for remote offices and smaller businesses, which can cover their facility with one or two sensors.
