Finnish paper producer Metsä Fibre Oy has chosen a complete Sepura solution for use throughout its mill in Joutseno in a deal brokered by Sepura’s Helsinki-based partner, Insalko Oy.

Metsä Fibre is a producer of softwood pulp for high-quality paper, board and tissue, with a large distribution network spanning Europe and the Far East.

The company selected Sepura’s STP9 hand-held radios, SRG3900 mobile radios and a Solo base station to replace its existing analog communication system.

The decision, made after rigorous testing, was based on the coverage and audio quality offered by Sepura’s products.

“We considered several suppliers,” said Artur Tynys, Recovery Line Supervisor for Metsä Fibre, “but, after a number of trials, Sepura’s products emerged as clear leaders, both in terms of the coverage offered and the quality of audio, which was significantly better than the competitors’. We are very happy with the abilities of the new system, which has markedly improved the quality of communications onsite.”

Commenting for Sepura, Lars-Magnus Gustafsson, Senior Business Development Manager for Northern Europe, said, “This prestigious win is the outcome of our established partnership with Insalko and illustrates how Sepura is able to successfully bring the benefits of its complete communication solutions to a demanding industrial environment.”
