Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Limited (AEROTHAI) has chosen Hytera to supply TETRA radios for Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang airports in Bangkok, Thailand.

Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Limited (AEROTHAI), a state enterprise under the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Thailand and founded in 1948 by airlines with the consent of the Royal Thai Government, provides air traffic control and aeronautical communication services for airline operations.

AEROTHAI installed an integrated TETRA system network covering Bangkok’s international airports in 2007, and it has been used by the ground crews and logistic companies for daily operational communications.

Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang airports have been trialling Hytera MT680 and PT580H TETRA radios since April 2013. The MT680 enables quick access to the TETRA network and roaming services, while the voice quality of PT580H is suitable for communications in the clamorous environment of airports.

The performance of the radios during the trial was critical for winning the new contract.
