Tait Communications will provide a digital radio network for use by transport, utilities, logistics and SME services and critical infrastructure agencies across the UK.

The company has signed a contract with Entropia Digital, a European- and UK-based company that provides wireless comms for utilities, security contractors, local authorities, roadside assistance and transportation companies.

The long-term project, which commences in London before expanding into other key metropolitan areas across the UK, will eventually include 200 sites and more than 10,000 Tait radios used by the various agencies.

“This is a significant contract win for Tait, both in terms of scale and the level of partnership that we have with Entropia Digital,” said Tait Chief Marketing Officer James Kyd. “We will not only deliver the latest innovations in digital radio technology but we’ll also be providing 24/7 support services and software add-ons that can deliver even more value to their business.

“A project of this size represents a significant step forward for our global growth strategy, which is focused on driving sales of our support services and software to complement the radio solutions that we’re famous for,” Kyd added. “This means that our clients can achieve increased value from their communications solutions over the long term.”

Earlier this year, Tait won a contract to supply the Royal Air Force with 6500 radios through its partnership with Petards Group.
