Tuesday, 18 September, 2012

ASK NT Ltd, a Kazakhstan-based company that specialises for secure communication, has awarded a contract to Hytera Mobilfunk GmbH to supply a fully digital TETRA radio communication system for the Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) Kazakstan state railway organisation.

The ACCESSNET-T IP TETRA radio system will be used for the Kandyagash-Nikaltau railway line in the north of the province of Aktobe (Oblast  Aktjubinskaja) alongside the rail track to replace an existing analog radio system.

The system will be used for voice communications and data applications for train signalling and telemetry data of trains.

The TETRA infrastructure includes eight base stations, one centralised IP node for switching and connection to applications, the application interface A-CAPI and the comprehensive Network Management System (NMS) from Hytera.

The project rollout is planned to be completed by the end of 2012.
