Trolley buses run smoothly with Hytera radios

Monday, 03 September, 2012

Hytera has supplied ILPAP, a trolley bus operator in Greece, with a robust wireless communications system, covering the 23 routes in Athens and Piraeus areas.

The 23 trolley bus routes cover more than 350 km with 80 million annual passenger rides. To enhance operation efficiency and better serve passengers, Hytera suggested providing a prototype of a MD78XG DMR mobile radio to the company for a trial.

ILPAP was impressed by the performance of the radio - especially its functions like GPS positioning, various voice calling, convenient dispatching and text messaging - and the 180 radios supplied from Hytera since have so far proved to be suitable.

An automatic vehicle location application will be applied to the communications system later in the year for better control and dispatching.
