RF Modules has introduced the TR1M 128. Incorporating automatic noise squelch and a 1200 baud modem, the 128-channel 12.5 kHz/25 kHz narrow band FM transceiver module is the latest release from Radiometrix.

It is intended as a general-purpose VHF unit covering any 3 MHz switching bandwidth specified in the frequency range of 135-175 MHz and is capable of supporting data rates of up to 5 Kbps over 1 km.

The synthesiser-based module shares a common pin out and features with the company’s UHF TR2M. Like the TR2M, it offers RF designers an analog and digital interface with a transmit power of +20 dBm (100 mW) and a receiver sensitivity of -118 dBm (for 12 dB SINAD).

The device is powered from a supply of between 4.5 and 16 V, with a current consumption of 110 mA for the transmitter (100 mW output) and 27 mA for the receiver.

The module is fully compliant with both ETSI EN 300 220-3 and EN 301 489-3 standards and has an operating temperature range of between -20 and +60°C.

It can be used in handheld terminals, heavy vehicle/machine remote controls, environmental monitoring, data loggers, industrial telemetry/telecommand and high-end security/fire alarm designs.
