Embedded wireless ethernet modules

Airborne is a line of integrated 802.11b/g modules from Quatech DPAC Technologies. The wireless module includes a radio, a baseband processor, an application processor and software providing a 'drop-in' web-enabled Wi-Fi solution.

There is no need to develop the software, or to develop the RF and communications expertise in house. Airborne modules provide instant LAN and internet connectivity.

The wireless radio and wireless ethernet bridge modules allow designers to implement Wi-Fi LAN-enabled devices and access points while the wireless serial devices server modules provide standard serial and I/O interfaces, allowing a wide variety of legacy devices and applications to be connected via wireless ethernet.

The small footprint design makes Airborne easy to embed into new or existing designs. The modules are interoperable with industry standard 802.11b/g access points and security standards such as WEP, WPA and LEAP.

The built-in TCP/IP stack and application software provide the embedded devices with instant LAN and internet connectivity without special programming of the module.

An integrated web server makes it easy to remotely monitor and control any device using a standard browser. Additionally, the OEM can create custom web pages that deliver content from their application.

Individual modules or evaluation and design kits are available.
