Indoor coverage

Radio Frequency Systems (RFS) has available its ClearFill Space2 solutions, a multi-band multi-operator RF-over-fibre distribution system for wireless indoor coverage especially serving the public transport sector (metro, rail and road tunnels).

Its flexible and modular design supports customisable wireless indoor solutions with virtually unlimited topology configurations.

The system uses a modular head-station that is custom-configured to suit a specific network topology. The high power output fibre-fed remote units allow much longer tunnel sections or larger areas to be covered, with RF output per RF carrier.

Remote units can be up to 20 km distant and each unit provides coverage for up to 500 m of tunnel or 20,000 m2 of indoor space.

A key feature is the conversion of RF signals into optical signals that are then propagated through optical fibre distribution to optical repeaters (fibre-fed remote units).

Optical repeaters are available, ranging from single standard (single-band) equipment through to opex-friendly tri-standard remote units with minimised power consumption and floor space requirements.

The technology can be managed remotely and locally, using SNMP connectivity, a wireless modem built into the head station, or via RS232.
