When trying to protect onboard computers in trucks and buses from road and engine vibrations, a soft isolation mount is often required. Gel-Mec has a range of ultrasoft gel sandwich or stud mounts which are much softer than traditional rubber isolators. These mounts are made of a very soft, highly damped silicone gel bonded to metal.
Suitable for sensitive equipment, the gel's softness is capable of isolating low frequency vibrations and road shocks typical in transport environments. Capable of isolating frequency vibrations of 10 Hz and above, the softest mount has a durometer of just Shore A 10.
The silicone material provides stable performance from -40 to 200°C. Thirteen standard mounts are available including male-female configurations for space saving applications. The range covers loads from just 1.2 up to 100 kg and suits a four-point fixing.
