The CEA-MOUNT Illuminator is an active phased array Continuous Wave Illuminator (CWI) that integrates with ship combat systems to provide target illumination and missile uplink for semi-active homing missiles (SM-2/ESSM).

The system consists of a scaleable phased array antenna mounted on an agile array positioning system. The system has a high level of redundancy, and employs the latest technology to provide effective short, medium and long-range missile fire control.

High operational availability and reliability is inherent in the design, and the use of a combined electronic beam steering and mechanical positioning system allows a rapid response to multiple target environments.

The system can interface to most modern weapon control systems, providing significant capability growth for both new fit and upgrade programs. It is able to service multiple simultaneous target engagements and the use of electronic beam steering removes the constraints of demanding mechanical control accuracies and allows faster response.
