Internal pulse modulator

Aeroflex has added an internal pulse modulator capability to its 6810 and 6820 series of microwave signal generators and scalar analysers.

The series with internal pulse modulator is claimed to be the only self-contained, single-box radar testing system available. The instruments can perform radar testing, calibration, maintenance and repair in either coax or waveguide media.

The modulator — option 25 — is available on all new 6810 series microwave signal generators and 6820 series microwave scalar antennas (with the exception of 6821).

Option 25 can also be retrofitted to any 6810 or 6820 series systems with the exception of 6821). The option is available in two frequency ranges, from 50 MHz to 18 GHz for typical radar test and from 50 MHz to 40 GHz for speciality applications.

For both the 6810 and 6820 series, the modulator performs sensitivity and range measurements for radar receivers and enables the user to test pulsed amplifiers under pulsed conditions.
