Fluke has announced a user-downloadable firmware upgrade for its 8845A/8846A digital multimeters.

The 8845A and 8846A 6.5 can handle demanding measurements on the bench or in a system. These meters are high performance, feature rich and easy to use. Now, users can get even more value from them by downloading and installing the upgrade, which delivers enhancements and new features and functions.

The enhancements include: increased VDC reading rate to 1000 readings per second; increased milliamp input range to 400 to cover a wider range of measurements through a single input; DCV:DCV ratio, making it possible to do relative comparisons of two DC voltage test points.

Features and functions include: added I DC and VDC dual measurement; create and store power-up instrument configuration; 8842A command emulation, so users can replace an old 8842A meter.
