Satellite data communications distributor announced

M2M Connectivity has been named as the distributor for Stellar Satellite Communications Ltd satellite data communications products in Australia and New Zealand.

These products work on the ORBCOMM satellite network, providing two-way messaging for tracking and monitoring applications. Manufactured by Delphi Electronics and Safety to exacting OEM telematics standards, the products are designed to withstand harsh environments common to many industrial applications.

The modules and modems use the ORBCOMM global M2M satellite data network, which is capable of sending and receiving short messages of between six bytes and several kilobytes, in near-real-time, from virtually anywhere on Earth.

The system comprises a global network of 29 low-earth orbit satellites and associated ground infrastructure. A new gateway earth station in Australia at Rutherglen has recently been put into operation which has greatly increased the network’s performance in the Australia/New Zealand region.
