Raymarine has developed two wireless remote controllers - the SmartController, a wireless autopilot remote control and repeater for instrument data and the more compact S100 wireless autopilot controller.

The SmartController is a handheld remote that displays SeaTalk instrumentation information and controls SeaTalk-based autopilots, even when away from the helm.

Acting as a remote controller for an autopilot and a repeater for monitoring instrument readings, the controller is compatible with all Raymarine's autopilots (with the exception of SportPilot) and instruments that use the SeaTalk protocol.

The device has a range of up to 10 m from the base station, which is below deck. For larger vessels, the range can be extended by adding extra base stations.

If the SmartController is out of range of the base station, the autopilot automatically sounds a warning signal and drops into standby mode. The S100 is a dedicated wireless remote control for all SeaTalk-based Raymarine autopilots.

The palm-size device has a menu for easy access to all autopilot functions. The high contrast 24 x 127 dot matrix screen displays two lines of text and an autopilot mode quick reference graphic. The device has a raised standby button for easy night-time recognition. The S100 has a 10 m range from the base station, which is fitted below deck. If the S100 moves out of range of the base station, a sound signal alerts the user and the autopilot drops into standby mode. Extra base stations and remotes can be added to the system for larger boats and additional crew.

The remote is IPX6 waterproof and comes with two storage cradles, a lanyard, and belt clip. It uses two AAA alkaline batteries and has a signal strength display.
