Trimble’s GPS module Copernicus II has tracking sensitivity that is better by 8 dB, start-up and acquisition are faster, accuracy higher and signal retention in poor environments has been raised, compared with the first version of the device.
This latest model is a drop-in for its predecessor. At 19 mm2 and 2.5 mm thick, it is one of the smallest GPS modules available and is surface mounted by way of 28 edge castellations.
Its size makes it suitable for applications such as vehicle tracking and navigation devices, weather balloons, asset trackers, security products, cameras and various Bluetooth appliances.
The development and communication protocols also make the module suitable for developers by adding GPS functionality to devices and applications that previously didn’t require them.
