Magellan has released the eXplorist 210, with 22 MB of internal memory in a rugged handheld GPS.

The unit comes standard with a built-in Australia base map, featuring highways, main roads, parks, coastline, waterways, airstrips and more, allowing the internal memory to be used for DiscoverAus Streets and Tracks software.

Using a high-speed USB port, the user can transfer data from a PC to the device, such as compatible software or Geocache coordinates.

With its lightweight and compact size, rubber-armoured casing and waterproofing to IPX-7, the unit is suitable for the outdoors and is small enough to fit in a pocket.

It can store up to 380 points of interest and 500 way points, 150 route files with 20 routes and 150 track logs with 2000 track points per log.

The device is easy to use, with PC-style file management and one-button access to key features, such as marking points of interest, go to routes, menu and a joystick to move the cursor on screen.

It uses TrueFix technology, with 14 parallel channels to minimise signal loss and provide accuracy to within 5 m.
