The CEA-MOUNT Illuminator is an active phased array Continuous Wave Illuminator (CWI) integrated with a ship's combat systems to provide target illumination and missile uplink for semi-active homing missiles (SM-2/ESSM).

The system consists of a phased-array transmitter/antenna mounted on an agile array positioning system. This highly redundant system employs the latest technology to provide effective short, medium and long-range missile fire control.

High operational availability and reliability is inherent in the design, and the use of a combined electronic beam steering and mechanical positioning system allows a rapid response to multiple target encironments and sections.

The system can interface to most modern weapon control systems, providing significant capability growth for both new fit and upgrade programs.

It is able to service multiple simultaneous target engagements. Use of electronic beam steering removes the constraints of demanding mechanical control accuracies and allows faster response.
