To match the test requirements for multi-technology devices, the CMW270 supports a variety of WLAN technologies and Bluetooth, including the necessary matching test signals as WinIQSIM options for waveform generation on a PC.

With the extended option set, the CMW270 is the suitable product for testing non-cellular technologies within the CMW product family.

Tthe CMW270 provides test functions for wireless network technologies, apart from cellular phone standards for:

• WiMAX
• WLAN
• Bluetooth
• LTE
• Chip test in production
• RF alignment while assembling boards
• Final test with over-the-air signals
• Application test

With the introduction of WLAN and Bluetooth options, additional non-cellular measurement functions are supported to match the test requirements of wireless network technologies in demand.

In the future, CMW270 users may see a requirement for testing cellular technologies. Either for smartphone-like devices, or if test capacity originally purchased for WiMAX test is to be used for LTE test. Due to the platform concept of the CMW family, an upgrade path from CMW270 to CMW500 functionality will provide test functions for conventional mobile radio as well as the technologies already supported. A CMW270 used for WiMAX or WLAN test may one day also be an LTE tester.
