Berkeley Varitronics has unveiled the latest YellowFin offering, a developer’s kit for mobile WiMAX.
The kit includes a calibrated mobile WiMAX receiver and DLL (Dynamic Link Libraries) software for engineers to run their own custom software development.
Developers control YellowFin-OEM receiver modules for interference detection and packet traffic analysis. The receiver provides spectrum analysis between 2.0 and 5.9 GHz covering bands including Wi-Fi, WiMAX, ISM, public safety, Bluetooth. The kit provides demodulation between 2.3 to 3.8 GHz for cell ID and segment information, multipath analysis and CINR (carrier-to-interference-plus-noise-ratios) on a preamble basis.
Receiver technology measures RSSI to within +1.5 dB of any nearby WiMAX packet on or off a network. The kit module contains ethernet and mini USB ports for PC connectivity as well as an internal 12-channel/satellite GPS receiver and necessary DLL software and documentation.
