CSE acquires Tetracom

Effective from Friday, 1 July, South Australia’s Tetracom joined the CSE Global group of companies through a business acquisition by the group’s CSE Crosscom subsidiary.

CSE Global now has offices in all major Australian states. This acquisition provides a great opportunity for South Australia as the additional resources available to the Tetracom business will result in a greater capacity to service larger and more diverse communication contracts.

“Tetracom will now have access to allied vertical markets serviced by the CSE Group, which will be a great opportunity for not only Tetracom but all of our radiocommunications suppliers in South Australia,” said Jeff Perry, Tetracom founder.

There will be no changes to the staff structure or business operations, and the management team will continue on with the business.

The company said that as the business continues to grow, and with the additional resources now available, it can be expected that career opportunities will arise from the acquisition.

Radiocommunication is vital to many industries, and with CSE Crosscom’s acquisition it shows the radio industry is strong in South Australia.

Tetracom started from humble beginnings in 1995 with a staff of one, as a state distributor for Phillips Communication Systems.

As the business grew, Phillips Communications left the market and Tetracom became a distributor of other leading suppliers such as Tait Communications, Motorola Solutions and Icom, among others.

Tetracom acquired the communications division of Broadspectrum in January 2016.

The company now has 20 specialised staff.

Tetracom has won many major contracts over the past 20 years, including: the Uluru National Park tender; the Adelaide to Darwin rail project; the 2004 South Australian Country Fire Service (CFS) fireground communications contract; a wide area radio network at Prominent Hill; the radio network supporting Iluka Jacinth Ambrosia Project’s above-ground operations; and the recent $7m CFS fireground upgrade.

In Australia, CSE Global employs over 200 people, has an annual turnover of $100m and operates communications, power and automation businesses across Australia and New Zealand through CSE Comsource, CSE Transtel, CSE Uniserve, CSE W. Arthur Fisher and CSE Crosscom.
