APCO seeks input on Data Exchange Standard
The US-based Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International has called for comments on the revision of the candidate American National Standard (ANS) APCO ANS 2.103.2-201x Public Safety Communications Common Incident Types for Data Exchange.
The revision aims to ensure that the standard continues to provide emergency communications centre (ECC) managers with a standard directory of incident type codes, to promote effective information exchange between Next Generation 911 ECCs and other agencies.
“The ability to efficiently share information between disparate ECCs and other agencies is a critical component of interoperability,” said Holly Wayt, President of APCO International.
The candidate standard document can be viewed online, with feedback due by 16 September 2019.
