Airbus and STC Specialized secure millions' safety at Hajj
Airbus’s professional radio and automatic vehicle location (AVL) technology was again used at this year’s Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, helping to secure the safety of around 1.8 million attendees.
During the six-day event, which ran from 9 August, dispatchers received information on each mobile unit’s location, status and active TETRA talk groups from Airbus’s slimline Th1n Tetra radio and AVL technology. Information was then transmitted to all relevant emergency personnel via the STC Specialized network, such as those from the Ministry of Hajj, Ministry of Health and the Mecca Municipality.
Airbus has been supplying secure communication solutions for the annual pilgrimage since 2017.
