Avtec Scout technology adopted by Yreka police
The Yreka Police Department in California has upgraded its emergency dispatch technology, implementing an Avtec Scout system.
The system will provide unified voice over internet protocol (VoIP) and telephony communications for the city’s 911 centre.
The department previously used the Positron Power radio dispatch system, but was notified by AT&T that it is no longer available.
The Avtec system will integrate the city’s radio system with the AT&T 911 telephony infrastructure, allowing for interoperability between new technologies such as video, text, and AVL (automatic vehicle location).
“Clients like the City of Yreka Police Department appreciate the capabilities Avtec consoles provide in their rapidly changing emergency dispatch communications environment,” said Avtec’s senior VP of sales, John Rosati.
“Avtec assures customers the ability to use legacy and emerging LMR, LTE and PTT over cellular technologies today and well into the future.”
Scout voice dispatch technology delivers a comprehensive set of functionality for mission-critical public safety environments and is available in hardware, software and mobile formats that operate on Wi-Fi and LTE networks.
