Hytera radio systems keep golf tournament on course
South Korea’s Shinhan Donghae Open golf tournament was kept on course this year with the help of Hytera radios.
The equipment — used at Bear’s Best CheongNa in Incheon from 19–22 September — included Hytera LTE handheld PTT PNC370 radios, capable of full-duplex audio and video communication and instant messaging via 2G, 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi, according to the company. Hytera also supplied a PTT-over-cellular management platform and a number of accessories.
IMG Event Manager and tournament organiser Jisang Kim said the technology helped their operation team work smoothly and successfully in every sector, including scoring, rules officials, press teams, volunteering and security.
Hytera’s systems have been used at a number of major sporting events such as the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games, 2014 WGC-HSBC Golf Champions, 2015 US Open, Dubai Tour 2015 and 2018 FIFA World Cup.
