Rivada awarded patent for DSA tech

Rivada Networks has been awarded a Eurasian patent for its Dynamic Spectrum Arbitrage (DSA) technology for LTE networks.

DSA enables real-time reallocation of network resources between wholesale buyers and sellers of wireless bandwidth.

Paired with Rivada’s Open Access marketplace, DSA commoditises bandwidth on radio networks.

“Dynamic Spectrum Arbitrage is a technology that will eventually be adopted around the world, so it is fantastic to have this patent awarded to us today,” said Rivada Networks Executive Chairman and Co-CEO Declan Ganley.

“The technology covered by this patent will enable spectrum holders to dynamically lease their non-priority unused radio spectrum to the highest competitive bidder, while retaining complete control of their network and the ability to instantly take spectrum back as and when the need arises.

“This technology presents a win-win opportunity for spectrum holders and spectrum users. Spectrum holders are given the potential to generate revenues by dynamically leasing available spectrum on a short-term basis, while commercial network operators obtain access to bandwidth when needed to meet the ever-growing demands of their wireless customers.”
