Airbus launches Agnet Extensions

Airbus Public Safety and Security has announced the upcoming release of Agnet Extensions, new feature packages designed to add enhanced capabilities to its Agnet MCX platform. The optional feature packages allow organisations to enhance their critical collaboration environment based on specific operational needs. Agnet Extensions will be available to all Agnet customers globally.

The initial rollout includes two functional feature packages designed to integrate seamlessly with the existing Agnet environment.

The Agnet Settings Pack focuses on daily operational efficiency and flexible team management. It introduces a predefined text message feature, enabling Agnet users to instantly send standard messages to individual users and conversation groups without retyping. It also allows organisations to add up to five custom attributes to contact cards — such as specialised roles or qualifications — for more efficient contact searching. Additionally, the package provides an administrative role for mobile users, allowing field personnel to manage talk groups dynamically, and supports the import of static map overlays to give dispatchers better situational awareness.

The Agnet Advanced Geolocation package is a separately licensed tier that delivers enhanced situational awareness including centralised geofencing. Dispatchers can create virtual boundaries on a map to track team movements, automatically triggering notifications or talk-group updates when a user enters or leaves a zone. For areas where GPS coverage is unavailable, such as tunnels or underground metro facilities, the package features Cell ID positioning to determine locations via network signals. It also includes dynamic map overlays and cross-organisation geolocation sharing to coordinate resources efficiently during large-scale operations.

To utilise these extensions, Agnet MCX release 25.1.10 is required as a basis. The extensions will become available for Agnet as a Service (Agnet SaaS) customers in Q4, while Airbus will coordinate installations for larger enterprise environments.
