Monday, 16 February, 2009

Daniels Electronics has won a $2 m contract with the Canadian government for coastal radio stations to be used by the Canadian coast guard at its marine communications and traffic services centres and associated remote sites in the Pacific region.

The radios will be operational continuously and are expected to operate for at least the next 10 years.

The radio stations being provided will upgrade existing radios (previously supplied by Daniels Electronics over 10 years ago).

The company has also been awarded a $1.6m contract with the Canadian government for assembling and testing assemblies used in the National Research Council of Canada Herzberg Institute of Astrophysics development of 84–116 GHz heterodyne receivers.

These are for the international Atacama large millimetre array (ALMA) telescopes.
