Tait releases push-to-talk over cellular technology

Tait Communications has released Tait PTToX for Tait P25 Trunked Networks, a push-to-talk over cellular technology that it says seamlessly connects a Tait TN9400 P25 core network with broadband communications. The solution extends the reach of an existing Tait P25 trunked radio system without replacing infrastructure.

“The Tait PTToX for Tait P25 Trunked Networks technology offers public safety agencies an opportunity to integrate their Tait P25 trunked networks with commercial or private LTE networks, extending coverage and supporting important LMR features on broadband devices,” said Barry Crates, Tait product manager – Infrastructure and P25 solutions. “The solution allows public safety agencies of any size to access broadband data capabilities while maintaining their mission-critical voice communications.”

The technology links radios, smartphones, dispatch consoles and remote users into shared talk groups, allowing agencies to improve interoperability, enhance coordination and maintain reliable communications. Tait says public safety professionals can extend communications to broadband users while preserving existing P25 investments.

TAIT AXIOM broadband solutions

TAIT AXIOM provides a portfolio of software applications and devices to suit a range of different teams and the way they work.

Tait PTToX can be used on Android and iOS smart devices, Tait AXIOM wearables and Tait AXIOM mobiles. Broadband-only devices can connect to Tait P25 trunked networks via Tait TN9550 software connected to Tait’s PTToX platform.

P25 trunked integration options

Tait PTToX connects TN9400 P25 trunked networks with broadband networks, supporting Group, Individual, Emergency and LMR Encrypted Calls. High availability is provided by TN9550 software.

When Tait PTToX is connected to a Tait P25 trunked network, any Tait P25 device can communicate to a Tait PTToX device. The Tait PTToX service can be deployed in the cloud or on premises.

Tait says the PTToX solution supports 1500 groups with 1500 members. The total number of registered users can be up to 3000 with no minimum number of devices and 100 simultaneous calls.
