Teltronic TETRA for new Finnish railway locomotives
Teltronic has been chosen to provide onboard TETRA equipment for a fleet of 60 new locomotives being built by Stadler for VR Group, the government-owned railway company in Finland.
The company will supply 60 units of its RTP-300, an EN50155/EN45545-compliant radio device that offers voice and data services as well as a set of functionalities that enable integration with other railway subsystems.
The contract also calls for 60 units of Teltronic’s RCC-3000 — a touchscreen control console — as well as audio accessories.
Teltronic equipment has already been used in previous VR Group projects when the railway company made the change from GSM-R to TETRA.
“This project means the consolidation of our presence in Finland, a pioneer country in the implementation of TETRA in railway environments and in which Teltronic already has different successful experiences. With this new reference we are strengthening our links with Stadler, a company to which we are grateful for their confidence and with which we hope to continue collaborating in the future,” said Felipe Sanjuán, Teltronic’s Director of Transport Business Development.
