The Icom IC-400PRO is derived from professional land mobile models; hence it is designed with both the strength and flexibility to meet demanding Australian situations. This transceiver model provides UHF CB users with an easy-to-use and fully featured package.

The one-piece alloy chassis design (150 x 40 x 142 mm, 800 g) features an all alloy chassis and heat sink, shatter proof polycarbonate front panel, 8 character alphanumeric backlit display, rotary volume control, front facing 4 W speaker, commercial grade microphone, quality mounting hardware and user/installation guide.

This model also meets tough US Military Specifications MIL-STD 810 C, D, E and F for exposure to temperature extremes, moisture, dust, shock and vibration.

The radio comes pre-programmed with all 40 UHF CB simplex and 8 duplex repeater channels at 5 W transmit power, with the capability for up to 88 additional receive-only channels to be programmed for scanning local frequencies.

Other features include super sensitive receiver design; repeater scan (plus priority, group and open scan); silent standby with CTCSS/DTCS; and a selection of CB and commercial 5 tone Selcall signalling formats.

It is also fully approved for use on licensed land mobile services within the 450-500 MHz band. Up to 88 of the additional channels can be reconfigured for use on LMR systems at 25 W transmit power with 12.5/25 kHz channel spacing, thus providing commercial users with an upgrade or add-on option for new and existing fleets, along with an LMR upgrade path for CB users.
