The Orion Network dominated the Motorola Solutions Australia/New Zealand Channel Partner Awards earlier this month, with Orion partners taking out six of the eight award categories.

Orion partners were awarded in the following categories:

  • Partner Excellence Award - Mastercom
  • Australian Radio Partner of the Year - Crosscom
  • Outstanding Radio Sales Achievement, New Zealand - Logan Caulfield, Genesis Communications
  • Outstanding Radio Sales Achievement, Australia - James Holmes, Crosscom
  • New Zealand Radio Partner of the Year - TL Parker

Other award category winners were:

  • Australasian Radio Solution Partner of the Year - CSE
  • Australasian Accessories Partner of the Year - Ezi Com

“To be recognised with such breadth across our partner companies is demonstrative of our award-winning foundations and growing force in the Australian digital two-way radio market,” said Hamish Duff, founding partner of Orion. “We have worked extremely hard to create a communications platform that is truly national and leverages Australia’s best talent and latest global digital two-way radio technologies. We are continually evolving as a business and are setting competitive benchmarks for connecting critical fleet and field operations.”

Adding to the Orion Group’s success, Duff received a standing ovation when he was presented the prestigious ‘Silver Fox’ award by Motorola Solutions General Manager, Radio Channel Sales Martin Chappell.

“The Silver Fox Award is named after Gary Roche, the father of the radio industry, and is awarded annually to the Motorola Solutions partner who exemplifies our shared values without exception throughout the year,” said Chappell.

“Hamish is a visionary in the industry and at the forefront of digital radio technology. He is an outstanding mentor to both his own staff and his peers,” Chappell added. “This award is given in recognition of his leadership within the industry and his commitment to provide customers with solutions which enable them to achieve better business performance.”

Hosted at the Marriott Hotel in Surfers Paradise, the Casino Royale-themed awards were preceded by a two-day conference attended by approximately 200 senior radio industry leaders representing Motorola Solutions’ leading channel partners from across Australia and New Zealand.
