ST Electronics, Motorola Solutions team up
Singapore Technologies Electronics (ST Electronics) and Motorola Solutions have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop technologies for advanced secured communications in the public safety, national security and enterprise sectors.
The primary focus of the partnership is to “help government and enterprise organisations reach new levels of security and productivity through smarter and more secure technologies”, the companies said in a statement released today.
Those technologies will range from increasing situational awareness and efficiency among first responders in the field to providing essential information to enable enterprises to make speedy and accurate business-critical decisions.
The statement also said that the collaboration “will accelerate the development of specialised technologies for high security mission-critical broadband, cyber-security solutions and purpose-built applications, all of which will be made commercially available in each company’s solution portfolio”.
Key areas of innovation will include:
- applications utilising Motorola Solutions’ Convergence Suite environment of WAVE interoperability and Intelligent Middleware solutions which seamlessly link critical communications users across networks, regardless of the type of device they carry;
- security solutions to protect the integrity of sensitive communications, shield operational intelligence and defend against cyberthreats;
- mission-critical public safety long-term evolution (LTE) solutions supporting both rapidly deployable solutions and large-scale implementations.
“This partnership lays an important foundation for both organisations to capitalise on our joined strength to benefit our customers,” said Lee Fook Sun, president of ST Electronics.
“With shared global expertise and business dynamism, this partnership will create new technological frontiers with innovative solutions for the government and private sectors in the realms of cybersecurity and public safety.”
“Together we will accelerate innovation and deliver advanced capabilities for government and enterprise organisations,” added Eduardo Conrado, executive vice president, Strategy and Innovation Office, Motorola Solutions.
“By transforming operations and securely making available data both mobile and actionable, we will protect the security and stability of our cities and enable communities to thrive.”
